What is a fair wage for manga artists

Many writers that collaborate with artist believe that they ask for too much money even though they're no "professionals." (Just to let you know I'm not one of those people. Artists work extremely hard to draw everything and I commend them for all of their work.)

What do you think is a fair wage for artists to charge?

If it's someone that is just starting out and they're collaborating with an unknown writer it's hard to say what is fair.

However, the going rate is apparently anywhere from $50 - $80.00/page. In Japan, for newcomers, they charge about $10.00/page. More established artists charge anywhere from $100 to $300/page.

...I've never seen a writer complain like that. Thankfully so, because I would probably kick them in the shin for that comment.

I can't speak for a fair wage, but ATM I am being paid about $15 per page (as the sole artist and a co-writer), on the condition I complete at least fifteen pages per month. This is fair enough for me-- I'll take what I can get.
