PostSubject: Should novels be turned into manga or vice versa?   Thu Nov 04, 2010 6:39 pm

There are many light novels being turned into graphic novels these days. Some of them include Death Note, Toaru Kagaku no Majitsushi, Saiunkoku Monogatari, Juuni Kokki.

Do you think that more companies should focus their attention on turning popular light novels into manga?

A lot of the light novels that were turned into manga were successful and portrayed very well. I think it would be great to start seeing more out there.

Actually Death Note was a manga before it was a light novel... Unless you meant that the other way around (I can't speak for the other mangas)

I think that it all depends on the nature of the light novel and popularity.

KKM!, my personal favorite, made a great manga (Light Novel - Anime - Manga). It's difficult for light novels to build a large fanbase though, so it's understandable that companies would be hesitant to invest in hiring a mangaka to put it to their name. Business is business.
